SANTANA TO METS!!!

LINK HERE!
Pending a physical and contract extension, Johan Santana, the greatest pitcher in baseball, is about to join the New York Metropolitans. The deal, according to USA Today's Bob Nightengale, is for Carlos Gomez, Deolis Guerra, Phil Humber, and Kevin Mulvey.

Here's a look at the Mets '08 rotation:
1. Johan Santana
2. John Maine
3. Pedro Martinez
4. Oliver Perez
5. Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez

That is by far the best NL rotation right now (and possibly the best in the Majors).
This just in as well, the Mets are the 2008 NL Eastern Division Champions!

Great deal Omar! You've earned all our respect again. Now get a deal done for 6 years 140MM with a 20MM mutual option for a seventh year.

I can just see all the people in Atlanta and Philly right now. One thing is for sure, Billy Smith better not take a vacation to Philly for awhile (not that anyone would want to visit that dump!). HAHA. Mets are not the '08 NL East champs. They're the '08 NL champs!

Lets not jump the gun here. One player does not a team make. They have to prove themselves on the field, not on paper. Just look at the Yankees, all those years the best team on paper with nothing. The Twins also clearly is the winner in this trade because they gave up one good pitcher and may make future stars out of those four kids.

You are wrong, the Mets clearly stole him. Nobody good for a star pitcher. Who is the bigger idiot Omar or Billy Smith? Red Sox and Yankees were offering star players and he didn't trade for them. What is that about? He settles for 4 players who have no proven track record. Payroll slashing indeed.
